Perform calculations to meet design requirements as pertains to pressure, flow, heat removal, etc., to establish baseline system design parameters and material and labor cost estimates. Develop schematics, bills of materials and layouts for both hydraulic and supporting electrical systems. Produce detailed drawings for vendor-fabricated equipment such as reservoirs and other components. Provide customer instructional tools, including working schematics of hydraulic and electrical systems for fabrication and start up, layouts and mounting instructions and dimensions. Specify various operating data such as oil pressure and flow settings, electrical point-to-point connections, etc. Provide technical guidance and assistance and collaborate with staff throughout the company, including: Provide technical assistance to inside and outside salespersons, shop foremen and other shop personnel. Provide technical assistance to personnel regarding fitting and component selection, system layout, piping and other fabrication practices. Assist parts coordinator with conversions of unavailable components to meet deliveries. Provide troubleshooting assistance and corrective action to fabricators during testing. Perform field service supervision and startup assistance as required to complete overall project start up and operation requirements. Participate in the quality improvement process as warranted. Provide project management support, including monitoring, maintaining and revising project budgets to reflect actual project costs and suggesting technical improvements to projects and quote change-orders. Implement, coordinate and complete change-order work. Communicate with multiple sub-contractors to coordinate work and maintain the overall project schedule. Provide on-site technical support and field supervision to ensure work is performed properly and in a timely manner by the appropriate tradespersons. Maintain project documentation and collect sub-contractor field test data/reports to meet project submittal requirements. Attend weekly project status meetings to report current work process to the customer and coordinate upcoming work with all parties (customer, contractor, sub-contractors, and tradespersons). Respond to off-hour phone calls for technical support. Ability to develop PLC-based control logic programming for various process control functions dictated by customer operating requirements (a plus). Education, Experience, Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably with hydraulic systems). Ability to develop hydraulic schematics, select materials and guide technicians in fabricating hydraulic systems. Understanding of relay logic industrial control panel design with ability to develop electrical schematics, select materials and guide technicians in fabricating control panels.
