Amazon Web Services’ Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals to help build the world’s premier cloud computing platform. We are looking for Manufacturing Engineers who are capable of operating in a fast-paced, ever-changing, multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. Our Manufacturing Engineers work closely with our ODMs, CMs, internal AWS hardware and software development teams, and with upstream component vendors to monitor and improve the incoming hardware quality of AWS products both proactively in the design phase as well as monitoring, reporting and investigating any early-life product failures. This role requires the engineer to be a technical contact and take on full ownership of the manufacturing launch and resolution of process issues. You will be the driver in getting production up and running, understanding root cause of hardware failures and resolving gaps in our suppliers manufacturing processes. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Responsibilities: Lead and oversee quality control processes across Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and vendors Deliver hands-on technical support during new product introductions and launches Evaluate and optimize product designs for quality assurance and manufacturing efficiency of servers and rack systems Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis Support global operations through regular domestic and international travel (25-50% of time) Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent practical experience Minimum 2 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience, specifically with server platforms or high-tech hardware systems Minimum 5 years collaborating with manufacturing suppliers on quality improvement initiatives and supplier quality management Minimum 5 years demonstrated success in optimizing production efficiency, including cycle time reduction and labor optimization Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production Experience with the project management of technical projects Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
