Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with General Contractors, Project Owners, Subcontractors and vendors to promote project success.

Be the point person from preconstruction through project closeout.

Delegate tasks to the appropriate team members and ensure understanding of the project across the team.

Facilitate coordination between Field Operations and Preconstruction (preplanning, prefabrication) and implement the project plan.

Review construction documents for inconsistencies and develop RFIs.

Perform detailed estimates of revised construction documents and provide clarifications with clear inclusions/exclusions.

Review and interpret specifications, coordinate discrepancies with contract documents, redline, and provide costs for items outside of the design.

Create subcontracts while working toward buyout from estimate; include terms and conditions to limit company risk and clarify scope inclusions/exclusions.

Partner with Contracts to review contract language, confirm scope inclusions/exclusions, and ensure milestones in the base bid schedule are achievable.

Identify long-lead items early and ensure procurement is tracked and released to meet schedule milestones.

Setup project budget with Estimating to work toward buyouts and early recognition of costs.

Understand lump sum vs. unit price contracts.

Verify budget after upload, confirming contract, budget, and billing accuracy in Spectrum.

Determine project labor tracking strategy and setup labor codes.

Gather hours from Superintendent and Foreman and verify with project team.

Monitor and manage procurement and construction schedules; escalate impacts and maintain documentation.

Collect feedback from field team for accurate CTCs and projections for review with Project Executive.

Prepare accurate monthly cost projections and stay engaged with labor tracking and weekly look-ahead schedules to mitigate impacts to schedule or finances.

Oversee submittals, RFIs, delay notices, potential claims, and extended overheads; ensure timely project requirements and documentation.

Maximize cash flow by balancing project cost with timing of income, facilitating buyouts, and negotiating change orders with estimating and project teams.

Proactively assist subcontractors with billings, change orders, and negotiations.

Coach Project Engineers and Sr Project Engineers toward their key results.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.

Required Skills & Abilities

Understand the entire construction process from design to close-out, including bid analysis, budgeting, writing scopes of work, interpreting documents, and design-build/negotiated projects.

Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to prioritize, complete tasks, and address issues promptly.

Ability to delegate tasks effectively to the project team.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanGrid, Procore.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to build and maintain relations with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Ability to work with a team and independently; capable of moving between office and jobsites.

Ability and willingness to travel out of state for Infrastructure projects.

Must be eligible to pass airport badge processes and have a valid Driver’s license.

Special Consideration

Experience managing airfield lighting or other infrastructure projects.

Salary Range

$100,000/year - $135,000/year

This is an exempt level position
