Overview
Starlink Enterprise Fleet Manager (Aviation) at SpaceX. The Fleet Support team serves as a critical technical contact for customers from early capabilities studies through launch, entry into service and ongoing support. You will support new business proposals from initial requirements verification through engineering design, prototype development and test. You will work with a small team of subject matter experts to iterate on solutions that meet customer needs. This role requires fast-paced problem solving and a passion for making things work. As the Fleet Manager, you will be the main technical point of contact for aviation customers and coordinate internal SpaceX personnel across all phases of the relationship. Responsibilities
Lead programmatic aspects of aviation and/or airline programs from contract award through integration, test, installation and ongoing operations to meet contract requirements Continuously monitor aircraft performance and communicate clearly to airline operations, maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime Support proposal efforts to align new work with long-term strategic vision and engineering objectives, ensuring contract requirements are executable Serve as primary escalation point for customers, resolve technical issues, and coordinate process improvements while maintaining positive relationships Plan and lead technical customer reviews and cross-company implementation, briefing technical content on complex designs, trade studies, risks and issues Collaborate with engineering to understand system performance and how hardware/software changes impact requirements and implementation, and communicate findings to customers Identify, design, and lead implementation of system and process enhancements to improve internal and external systems, processes and interfaces Act as focal owner for on-wing field troubleshooting and diagnostic support as required to resolve issues efficiently
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; OR high school diploma/equivalency with 10+ years of professional experience in business development, operations, engineering, or account management 6+ years of experience in program management, project management, systems engineering, or operations 6+ years working with customers to support a technical product or service in the aerospace market
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or business Experience with commercial airlines, civil aviation authorities, or aerospace systems manufacturers Experience as an aircraft mechanic or engineer Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous startup environment Experience with avionics or aerospace development, integration and/or test Strong process improvement and system design mindset Excellent written and verbal communication with experience negotiating technical deliverables or scope Strong interpersonal skills and ability to tailor communications to the audience
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed Not a remote position; relocation to Woodinville, WA area may be required
Compensation and Benefits
Fleet Manager: $130,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year. Base salary is determined on a case-by-case basis based on knowledge, skills, education and experience. Additional rewards may include stock options or bonuses, and benefits such as medical, vision, dental, 401(k), disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation and holidays.
