Position Summary: The CPACE (Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy) Business Development Officer is responsible for driving the growth of CPACE financing by identifying new business opportunities, fostering relationships with commercial property owners, developers, contractors, and financial institutions, and promoting CPACE programs. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate, energy efficiency, renewable energy financing, and public-private partnerships. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Business Development & Sales Identify and cultivate new CPACE financing opportunities with property owners, developers, and contractors. Develop and maintain relationships with commercial real estate brokers, lenders, and industry stakeholders. Educate potential clients on the benefits and process of CPACE financing. Structure CPACE financing solutions that align with client needs and program guidelines. Collaborate with internal underwriting and legal teams to facilitate deal closing. Research and analyze market trends, regulations, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for CPACE expansion. Develop go-to-market strategies to promote CPACE financing in targeted regions or industry segments. Partner with government agencies, economic development organizations, and sustainability groups to advocate for CPACE adoption. Networking & Industry Engagement Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows. Conduct presentations and workshops to educate stakeholders on CPACE financing. Establish relationships with municipalities and program administrators to stay informed on CPACE policy changes. Reporting & Compliance Maintain a pipeline of potential CPACE transactions and track deal progress. Ensure all CPACE transactions comply with program guidelines and regulatory requirements. Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives . Represent Community Bankshares Inc and/or its subsidiaries in the community and at community events as appropriate. Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Proven track record in business development, sales, or deal origination. Knowledge of CPACE financing, commercial lending, and sustainability initiatives. Strong networking and relationship management skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 3-7 years of experience in commercial real estate, structured finance, energy efficiency, or related industries.
