Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer (Supervisor)
Department of Transportation – Caltrans, Oakland, California, Alameda County (111 Grand Avenue).
Salary $11,437.00 – $14,315.00 per Month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.
Responsibilities Provides technical support to maintenance personnel to maintain the BASE system in the district. Works with team members to research, design, implement and maintain the Department’s BASE telecommunications system which monitors various Bay Area transportation structures via wireless radios and other network devices, provides documentation on research and writes reports or studies to management or control agencies for project implementation. Prepares plans, specifications and estimates for projects related to BASE and other related matters. Maintains various elements of the BASE system and coordinates maintenance activities in the field with electrical engineers, technicians, contractors and HQ Telecommunication engineer.
Provides technical support to maintenance personnel to maintain the power distribution system in the district. Works with team members, field maintenance staff and contractors to troubleshoot various field electrical and electronic devices, providing electrical supply to Toll Bridges, Tunnels and Tubes.
Qualifications
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state‑owned or leased vehicle.
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required.
Demonstrated ability to meet project delivery commitments through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience resolving complex, sensitive issues with internal and external partners (provide specific example).
Demonstrated ability to apply budgetary, supervisory and technical skills to lead the program.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including group presentations and negotiations.
