Team Operations REPORTS TO:

Director of Medical & Performance WHAT SETS YOU APART The psychologist/mental coach will help soccer players improve their performance by addressing their mental health, mindset, and psychology. Psychologists work with athletes to help them manage stress, build confidence, and overcome challenges. This role will support MLS players, MLS NEXT PRO, MLS NEXT & all staff at OHP. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement safe and effective mental programs for MLS Players Lead and supervise all the psychological training sessions Manage the mental health needs of individual soccer players and entire teams Offer evidence-based psychological insights to team and coaching staff as part of broader performance optimization strategies Provide individual counselling on a regular basis Design the daily, weekly, and monthly plans and periodization strategies Educate and counsel Players regarding strategies to improve performance Communicate with the sports medicine staff regarding injuries, rehabilitation and deconditioned Players to provide them with useful information Evaluate Player mental performance through objective testing Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with Players, coaches, other Club personnel, and MLS staff Comply with all MLS medical policies and procedures Attend activities/meetings/programs as required by MLS Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in sport/performance psychology or a related field Minimum 2 years of soccer experience Bilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese), preferred but not required Experience working with junior & adult athletes Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) or CMPC-eligible (mentorship available) Strong collaborative approach within an interdisciplinary team of professionals Adherence to the AASP Code of Ethics Valid passport and the ability to travel extensively, including nights, weekends, and long hours Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
