Overview

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing analytical assignments and special projects related to the administration and supportive services for the Program Support Division (PSD). The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I of the Policy, Training and Administrative Support Services Unit (PTAS) and serves as the Contract and Purchasing System (CAPS) analyst, independently engaging with IT Services, PSD management to recommend CAPS enhancements and updates. Working Conditions

Telework may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change. All employees who telework must be California residents. Travel may be required; reimbursement is based on regulations. The headquarters office location is identified in the duty statement. Minimum Requirements

Minimum salary: $6,031.00–$7,547.00 per month. One position available. Hybrid telework. Permanent full‑time. Desirable Qualifications

Experience in reasoning logically and creatively solving complex issues. Skilled in utilizing analytical techniques to develop and evaluate alternatives. Proficient in analyzing data and presenting ideas orally and in writing. Ability to consult with administrators or stakeholders on wide range of subject‑matter areas. Demonstrated capacity to gain and maintain confidence and cooperation of colleagues and partners. Experience coordinating work of others and serving as a team or conference leader. Comfortable appearing before legislative and other committees to represent departmental interests. Knowledge of state contracts and procurement processes, including the Contracts and Purchasing System (CAPS). Familiarity with principles, practices, and trends in public and business administration and management. Awareness of government functions and organizational structures. Skilled in methods and techniques of effective conference leadership. Benefits
