Position Summary The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the upkeep, repair, and overall functionality of Kualoa Ranch’s buildings, structures, and operational infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring that facilities are safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently to support the daily activities across the ranch. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Technician will perform a wide range of hands-on maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, light masonry, basic plumbing, and general repairs. The ideal candidate has their own basic hand and power tools, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and can work independently or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address maintenance issues. Conduct general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, light masonry, furniture assembly, and minor electrical work. Support event setup, equipment relocation, and property-wide maintenance projects. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of workspaces and storage areas. Facilities Support Complete assigned work orders and projects in a timely, professional manner. Respond to emergency maintenance calls and assist in minimizing disruptions to operations. Provide support across departments for repairs and improvements as needed. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding project progress, timelines, and materials. Safety & Compliance Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and responsibly. Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures. Maintain compliance with applicable codes and Kualoa Ranch standards. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in facilities, construction, or general maintenance preferred. Demonstrated skills in painting, carpentry, light masonry, and general building repair. Basic plumbing knowledge is a plus (not required). Must have own basic hand tools and power tools (hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, drill, circular saw, etc.). Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, or in confined spaces. Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, humidity, etc.). Capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Working Conditions Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments across the ranch. Exposure to heat, rain, humidity, dust, and other outdoor conditions is common. Flexible scheduling may be required to support special events, emergency repairs, and seasonal projects. Position requires hands-on, physical work and close collaboration with other departments to meet operational needs.
