Legal Assistance offered by Catholic Community Services' Tenant Law Center

Provides civil legal aid services to low-income tenants with pending eviction, subsidy terminations, and requests for reasonable accommodation in King County. Tenant Law Center attorneys can assist with evictions from permanent and subsidized housing. A notice is not required. Tenant Law Center can assist with: Pending evictions for residents who have not yet received a Summons and Complaint. Preventing Section 8 subsidy terminations for King County residents (cannot do reinstatements); must have written notice of pending subsidy termination. Helping tenants in King County get reasonable accommodations after the initial request was denied. Call the Housing Law Assistance offered by King County Tenant Resource Line unless the caller needs an interpreter or has access needs that make calling difficult. Call 2-1-1 for initial telephone screening. If appropriate, 2-1-1 will contact TLC, who will then contact the household to screen for legal merit. Qualifying households will be scheduled to consult with an attorney. Fee:

None. Eligibility: Tenants in Seattle at or below approximately 80% AMI. Tenants within King County and outside Seattle at or below 200% FPL. Tenants at risk of termination due to lease noncompliance or nonpayment of rent. Focus is on serving Elderly, Disabled, BIPOC, non-English speaking, and LGBTQ households.
