David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a highly skilled Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager. This position can be located in Dallas/Fort Worth or College Station, TX, focusing specifically on our Rail Market’s Strategic Growth. The responsibilities include project management and business development to support our Transit and Rail Group. The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader and self-starter with extensive experience and market expertise in multi-disciplinary transit and rail projects, playing a vital role from conceptualization to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Market Development:
Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, develop strategies to target new clients and projects. Business Development:
Manage client relationships, sell DEA services, develop new business, forecast sales, and stay updated on client technology trends. Client Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships, lead contract negotiations, and serve as a high-level client contact. Project Management:
Act as principal-in-charge or project manager, monitor performance, coach team members, manage contractual responsibilities, and ensure high-quality, timely, and budget-conscious deliverables. Leadership and Mentoring:
Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth. Team and Resource Leadership:
Lead pursuit staffing, partner decisions, revenue forecasting, and oversee profitability. Other Duties:
Perform additional assigned duties. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. PE license. Minimum 10 years’ civil engineering design experience, focusing on freight rail land development projects. Experience with railroad engineering, familiarity with design guidelines and specifications. Excellent communication, collaboration, and travel ability. Experience with major rail clients like BNSF, UPRR, CPKC, NS. Proven success in project delivery and business growth in transportation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication tools. Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Ability to manage medium to large teams.
