As Store Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team, achieve ambitious goals, and help customers transform their outdoor spaces—all while working in the environment you love. Customer Experience & Operations
Ensure exceptional customer service and merchandising standards Step in to support any department during training or busy periods Lead by example during peak seasons and weekends Maintain store appearance, cleanliness, and safety standards Team Leadership & Development
Hire, train, and develop staff members Manage performance, promotions, and career development Create a positive, safe working environment Handle HR functions including discipline and compensation decisions Financial & Inventory Management
Monitor and achieve budget targets for revenue, margins, and profit Oversee receiving, selection, quality control, and care of all merchandise Manage inventory levels and plant care standards Strategic Planning
Collaborate with Retail Director on store improvements Research, plan, and execute approved initiatives Contribute ideas for enhancing operations and customer experience Required Qualifications
3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably 2+ years in garden center, nursery, or landscaping Comprehensive knowledge of plants and horticultural care practices Technological competency to operate scheduling, performance, and inventory software systems Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and push/pull up to 200 pounds Work Schedule and Environment
This position is located at our Lake Oswego garden center. Hours of operation are 9am-6pm, 7 days a week Primarily outdoor work environment (not climate controlled) Physically demanding role requiring stamina and weather resilience Benefits & Pay Range
