is seeking a full-time, permanent O&M Manager to start as soon as possible. The O&M Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant operation and maintenance (O&M) of renewable energy generation projects. Role:
O&M Manager Responsibilities
Oversee production and ensure plants operate within design parameters in a reliable, safe and efficient manner. Ensure facility processes and procedures are adhered to and comply with all applicable rules, regulations and laws. Monitor production to ensure plants meet performance expectations. Coordinate and resolve operational abnormalities. Ensure timely maintenance and repair of plant components and resolve arising problems. Perform preventive/predictive maintenance to ensure long-term profitability, plant reliability and risk minimization. Work with cross-functional groups to prepare operating budgets, monitor and control costs within approved budgets; procure equipment replacement and maintenance/repair contractors and approve purchase orders within established approval levels. Ensure plant staff has completed required safety and functional training. Foster a collaborative team environment across RWE Clean Energy projects to optimize safety, operations, maintenance and performance. Technical Support
Perform operational analysis to support Asset Management and Project Development. Review daily, weekly, monthly and annual operational reports.
Technical Expertise
Stay abreast of regulations, codes and standards relevant to the industry. Develop relationships with suppliers for beneficial synergies.
General
Act as local company and owner liaison; develop long-range plans and engage with local civic groups as required.
Job Requirements and Experiences
A 2-year or 4-year college degree in Business or a technical hard science (Engineering, Physics, Power, or closely related) from an accredited US school is preferred. A current journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for 2 years of experience. NABCEP Certification or Electrical License preferred. Minimum 8 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, including at least 2 years in renewables managing plants. Minimum 5 years in a lead or supervisor position. Minimum 2 years managing facilities and personnel. Understanding of substation equipment, functions and maintenance requirements. Understanding of NERC as it applies to power plants, substations, PRCs, MODs, CIP standards, etc. Understanding of plant operations, environmental rules, SPCC, emergency plans, etc. Knowledge of industry standards, OSHA regulations and environmental regulations. Knowledge of energy markets and market procedures. Experience interacting with regulatory agencies (e.g., CAISO, CPUC, PG&E). Experience with California employment laws and regulations. Experience managing, troubleshooting and working with SCADA/DAS/CMMS systems. Strong people leadership experience and ability to lead through change. Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety processes and procedures. Unrestricted driver’s license in good standing. Understanding of solar and battery energy plant equipment and maintenance requirements. Able to guide site teams to accomplish objectives; motivate teams to complete assignments efficiently and effectively. Ability to operate in a cross-functional environment; strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and facilitation skills. Knowledge of power electronics and circuitry; knowledge of power generation technologies and equipment. Willingness to work weekends and off shifts as required and to travel to and from job sites as assigned, including supporting other sites. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams. Experience using maintenance management platforms (e.g., SAP, COMBAT, Tableau, KPA Flex preferred). Leadership and communication skills with ability to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks. Detail-oriented with strong business acumen and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to empathize, build relationships and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds; coachable and receptive to direction. Office-based role with some travel to RWE Clean Energy offices and field locations. Physical Requirements
