The
Exercise Physiologist
reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards. This position is responsible for performing, administering, and monitoring cardiodiagnostic tests, primarily including treadmill, arm ergometer, bicycle ergometer, pharmacologically induced stress tests, holter monitoring hook-up, and scanning. The incumbent provides preliminary findings of recorded data to physicians through monitoring and necessary calculations. Responsibilities: Performs treadmill, pharmacologic, arm ergometry, and bicycle ergometry stress tests following established protocols, with modifications as directed by physicians if needed. Records basic calculations to assist in physician interpretation. Explains cardiac testing procedures to patients and family members. Follows sanitary procedures to minimize infection risk. Monitors hemodynamic parameters and implements protocols accordingly. Alerts physicians to potential rhythm abnormalities. Communicates professionally with physicians, patients, and staff. Performs holter hook-up and signal average ECG. Accurately enters patient data into testing and reporting systems. Performs equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs. Handles clerical duties related to stress testing and holter monitoring. Maintains and cleans equipment and facilities. Coordinates patient scheduling. Additional Functions Ensures a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment. Routes exam information to patient charts per policy. Processes exam data for connected sites via Muse System. Performs patient data entry, including orders and charges. Qualifications Required: Master's degree in Exercise Physiology.
