Discover your career potential with a practice dedicated to excellence and innovation.**Job Description:****Pay Range: $33.00 - $46.40 per hour***If you’re looking for a place where you can make a real difference and work with a team that puts care back into healthcare, Akira is the place for you!***ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Performs routine and non-routine digital mammography procedures as ordered. Computes and selects proper technical factors based on patient size, physical condition, and suspected pathology.* Prepares each patient for examination by confirming patients’ history and explaining the exam process. Communicates patient details and areas of concern to physicians and others as appropriate. Enters exam details and charge information into computer. Maintains supplies for diagnostic procedures.* Ensures films and records are properly completed with relevant patient identification data and film labeling requirements. Reviews images for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.* Demonstrate competency performing all mammographic procedures and the operation of all related equipment* Maintain logs; process paperwork for biopsies and utilize sterile techniques preventing contamination* Maintain quality standards as it relates to HIPAA regulations* Prepares, adjusts, and cleans equipment and patient exam area. Checks equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and notifies technicians when repairs are needed.* Follows all safety standards and ensures the physical comfort and safety of patients during procedures. Provides the proper protective gear such, as the radiation badge monitors, to individuals in the exam area.* Assist other technologists, Lead technologist and or clinical manager with maintaining licensure, accreditation, and preparing for inspections with agencies such as ACR, MQSA, and NYS DOH.* Provide a positive patient experience; share information with patients, providing knowledge about the procedure; ensuring they are aware of follow-up steps and requirements* Maintain communication with radiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, and other persons* Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly QA testing as well as help keep proper documentation of testing.* Perform all mammographic images daily in guidelines to ACR accreditation.* Demonstrate teamwork; interacts in a positive manner with employees and contributes to a collaborative work environment.* Meet or exceed deadlines, follows through, demonstrating accountability, flexibility and adaptability.* Enhance professional growth and maintain certifications, registration and active CME’s.* Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires* Other duties as requested or assigned.* Be part of a practice at the forefront of cutting-edge cancer care and advanced treatments* Access opportunities for professional growth and continuing education.* Work alongside a collaborative and compassionate team of experts dedicated to making a difference.* Enjoy the convenience of multiple locations throughout the Capital Region.* Contribute to groundbreaking clinical trials that shape the future of oncology care.* Not Your Typical Imaging Center: Akira is designed with the patient experience in mind.
