Overview
Battery Engineer - e-Mobility in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This position offers those engineers with passion for battery development an opportunity in designing, testing, and engineering Cells, Modules and Packs including Client engineering for automotive and commercial applications. Our client is seeking qualified electrical and electro-chemical engineers with 2+ years of experience to fill multiple positions in multiple locations for the highly competitive E-Mobility division. Responsibilities
Develop design specifications for a battery pack (kWh, peak kW, C-rates, S-P arrangement, pack-factor, specific energy, energy capacity, etc.). Design battery architecture (cells, cassettes, modules and packs). Understand Client design and implementation (master/slave, central, etc.). Develop Client algorithm requirements and techniques for algorithm designs. Test batteries with sensing, SOC, SOH, SOx, charge and discharge control, thermal management and design for DOD specifications. Test batteries for UN, UL, IPC, SAE and FMVSS standards. High-voltage and battery safety experience. Design and develop DVP&R plans for battery cells, modules and packs to target certification standards. Test batteries, analyze data, and develop design optimization processes. Knowledge of battery thermal management such as intercellular cooling, direct cooling, bottom plate cooling, etc. Module balancing, pack balancing, test preparation, charging and discharging and implementation of safety for battery testing. Demonstrated passion for battery design and development. Qualifications
