2025-18129**As a Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following:*** Develop and maintain an understanding of electric power system automation and industrial control systems including related protocols, serial and network communications, security, and logic programming.* Assist in customer technical support including installation, commissioning and operation of automation and control systems.* Assist in developing, analyzing, and improving product specifications and functional and validation tests.* Prepare and maintain product documentation including application guides, data sheets and instruction manuals* Prepare technical and market analyses to evaluate proposed products or enhancements.* Prepare data on competing automation products.**This job might be for you if you have:*** A B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience* You have working knowledge of automation and integration applications, practices and philosophies at an electrical utility, industrial plant, or engineering firm* You have knowledge of OSI model and basic networking principles* You have strong technical presentation and training skills* You are willing to travel up to 15%* You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills* You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities* You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment***Preferred Qualifications**** Working knowledge of SEL products* Working knowledge of SEL, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870, and IEC 61850 protocols* Working knowledge of electric power systems and protective relay applications* Experience in customer service or technical support**Pullman, WA**- This position is located in Pullman, WA.
