Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital Position Summary

Provides patients with a planned course of treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologists. Responsibilities

Essential Functions Implements the patient's planned course of treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologists. Explicitly follows the predetermined treatment parameters as set during patient simulation and treatment planning. Interacts with all areas in Radiation Oncology for scheduling, planning, evaluation, and implementation of the treatment plan. Coordinates with departments within and outside UF Health Cancer Center at Orlando Health to ensure multidisciplinary continuity of care. Reinforces patient education regarding diet and side effects management. Consults with appropriate departments for patient concerns outside the therapist’s expertise. Performs all necessary daily patient-related activities as outlined in departmental policies and procedures. Assists in maintaining all equipment by reporting malfunctions and unsafe conditions promptly. Documents all patient data related to treatments, well-being, charges, and procedures to facilitate continuity of care. Understands all governmental statutes and regulations regarding the application of ionizing radiation at state and federal levels. Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws. Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Obtains all continuing education requirements as mandated by professional and state licensure organizations. Flexible hours and location work to meet patient and departmental needs are essential. Participates in community service and educational events. Provides care appropriate to the age and specific needs of assigned patients. Qualifications

Education/Training Graduate from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy. Licensure/Certification ARRT registered or registry eligible; maintains current BCLS/Healthcare provider certification. Experience New graduates with a current temporary Radiologic Technologist License by the State of Alabama or proof of application, contingent on passing the certification exam within 90 days of hire.
