Pay Range: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (flexible hours between 6:00am and 7:00pm)
& rotating Saturdays
Job Responsibilities:
Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for possible malignant or abnormal conditions
Screen liquid-based cytology, both manual and imaged, as well as conventional slides
Perform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens according to laboratory procedures
Ensure proper documentation of workload, including screening and non-screening activities, as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelines
Maintain integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of results
Meet slide screening requirements as per SOP
Finalize testing results into the computer accurately and promptly
Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed
Comply with all safety, infection control, and HIPAA policies
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university
Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program
ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is required
Prior experience in Cytology is preferred
ThinPrep and SurePath certifications are a plus
Must pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test
Understanding of Cyto preparation techniques
Experience with automated and non-automated testing is preferred
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
Ability to work independently or in a team
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen
