Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Performs a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation. Performs CT scans as directed. Communicates with the physician and other work-related personnel appropriately. This position is bonus eligible. Responsibilities

Communicate with nursing or physician concerning patient. Inform nursing of patients that need IV sedation or biopsies. Fill out questionnaires on all patients between the ages of 12-55 yrs. old. Positions patients accurately for all CT procedures. Ensure proper transfer and positioning for best visibility. Know scanning protocols in depth and refer to protocol books as needed. Complete studies in a timely manner and present to the radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion of exam. Document procedure completion times. Ensure films are archived and available for radiologist reading. Obtain supplies and prepare the room for the patient. Maintain room cleanliness and stock at all times. Ensure adequate supplies and linens are available. Clean tables and trays after each patient. Use proper technique when administering IV contrast. Confirm IV access with saline flush. Select the correct method of injection (hand or injector). Demonstrate proficiency in filming from the imaging workstation and in 3D imaging and multiplanar reconstruction. Respond to codes and other emergency situations appropriately. Explain CT procedure to patient and/or family member. Obtain completed questionnaires and proper history from patient, floor, or physician’s office. Inform patients and families of delays. Train co-workers and students. Assist other technologists when not busy in the CT room. Acquire requisition and verify appropriate clinical. Charge procedure, supplies, and surgical codes after exam. Ensure name badge and fluoro time are recorded. Add surgical charges when needed. Operate PACS system correctly and verify studies before sending to archive. Report equipment problems to supervisor and document confirmations. Complete all required forms for procedures. Complete contrast sheets for all patients receiving IV and/or rectal contrast. Use CT forms for all patients. Communicate with radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam. Apply correct protocols as prescribed. Perform scans as directed. Demonstrate recognition of anatomy and pathology relevant to the scan. Perform warm-up calibrations as needed. Maintain competency in the CT department and perform point-of-care testing as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements

Education

- Certification Program. Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program Experience

- No experience required. In Lieu Of

ARRT Registered and registered in CT CPR SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
