This job provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to both in-patients and out-patients, ranging from neonatal to geriatric patients. Responsibilities include monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, analyzing and reporting arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, assisting with changing artificial airways, and providing services as ordered by a physician and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Education
Required – Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy
Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy
Work Experience
Required – 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
Certifications
Required – Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire
Preferred - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Proficiency in computer skills for data entry and retrieval
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Job Duties
Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures
Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient encounter
Educate patients and healthcare team on procedures and treatment plans
Perform diagnostic procedures
Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication styles
Perform other related duties as assigned
