RN Shift Coordinator Inpatient Psych Unit (Night Shift 12 hours) - (250002MZ). The inpatient Child Psychiatric Unit is a 12-bed unit. It is a short-term child oriented program designed to provide crisis intervention and stabilization to children 3-13 years of age. The average length of stay is three to seven days. Each patient receives an initial psychiatric evaluation upon admission. While on the unit treatment may include additional psychological and medical evaluations as needed. The treatment team can consist of the following: Attending Psychiatrist, Individual Therapist (Residents/Fellows), Medical Students, Psychology Interns, Family Therapist (LSW), Expressive Art Therapist, Educational Assistant, Registered Nurses, and Child Psychiatric Specialists. The Adolescent Psychiatric Unit (APU) is a 14-bed short-term treatment unit for adolescents 14-17 years old, providing extensive bio-psychosocial and treatment services to facilitate stabilization, evaluation, treatment, and follow-up care in a safe environment. Responsibilities (Functional Accountabilities)

Participate/support Shared Leadership. Contribute to CNMC’s Magnet Journey. Ensure nursing is based on evidence of best practice. Support/participate in the Division of Nursing’s Performance Improvement process. Participate in community activities. Assess, plan, and implement nursing processes: continuously perform patient/family assessments; assess and modify skill mix and staffing levels for complex issues; plan patient discharge and all clinical issues; use a multidisciplinary approach to meet patient care needs. Demonstrate effective communication: therapeutic communication, provide performance feedback, manage conflict, advocate for patients/families. Educate patients/families: facilitate learning opportunities and ensure educational needs are met. Safety: promote safety, verify information, resolve uncertain situations, and ensure clear verbal and written communication. Organizational accountability: manage staffing costs, ensure policy adherence, participate in performance appraisals, lead change, and demonstrate leadership. Organizational commitment/identification: align with the mission, uphold diversity, integrity, and confidentiality. Customer service: anticipate needs and follow up until met. Teamwork/collaboration: collaborate respectfully and partner with team members to achieve goals. Performance improvement/problem-solving: contribute to a positive environment, be adaptable, identify process improvements, and make sound decisions. Cost management/financial responsibility: use resources efficiently and seek cost-effective options. Qualifications

Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree (Required) Minimum Work Experience 2 years Nursing experience. (Required) 1 year Recent pediatric experience in a comparable setting. (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge The Shift Coordinator will successfully complete the hospital and nursing orientation at CNMC.
