Lead Veterinarian – Vermont Village Veterinary Hospital offers a leadership role in a clinic that values collaboration and growth. We’re on the lookout for a Lead Veterinarian to guide and support our team at Vermont Village Veterinary Hospital. Located just 22km east of Melbourne’s CBD, our practice presents a unique opportunity for an experienced vet ready to take the next step in their career, or a current Lead Vet seeking a new adventure close to home. Overview As Lead Veterinarian, you’ll play a pivotal role in clinical decision-making, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with the Practice Manager & Regional Manager to ensure smooth days. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet with 5+ years of experience who is passionate about leadership and delivering a high standard of care. We are ideally seeking a full-time Lead Vet but are open to discussing flexible arrangements that work for you. Responsibilities Delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary care Leading clinical standards and best practices within the hospital Mentoring and supporting junior vets and nurses Working collaboratively with the Practice Manager to drive continuous improvement Fostering a positive team culture and maintaining high staff morale Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience as a practicing Veterinarian (GP or mixed practice) Proven ability to lead and mentor veterinary teams Strong surgical and diagnostic skills A passion for delivering outstanding patient care and client service Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A team-focused, supportive, and collaborative mindset A desire to contribute meaningfully to the clinic’s long-term success Why Join Vermont Village Vet?
