AZAD is seeking a CAT Scan Technician for a W2 Contract position in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.
Schedule:
5 days a week, Monday - Friday 11 am - 7 pm. No Call. No Weekends.
Assignment Duration:
The initial assignment length is 13-weeks with a high probability of being extended.
Compensation & Benefits:
The hourly compensation pay rate range is between $52.00 - $55.00 (Local candidates). $30.00 - $33.50 hourly range, plus daily stipends, $143 Lodging and $80 Meals & Incidentals (Non-Local Candidate). Benefits include Co-paid Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Cafeteria Plan, and 401k.
Essential Functions: The CT technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence when performing the following tasks: Obtains necessary medical, surgical and radiological supplies for specific procedures according to established protocols. Maintains sterility of field and instruments. Correctly prepares requisitions. Communicates to the patient and family before, during and after the procedure to alleviate anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity of the patient. Adheres to all HIPAA regulations and respects patient privacy. Verifies patient identification according to the AHS policy. Observes patient's condition before and after contrast injections and reports any sudden change to the nursing staff and Radiologist. Ensures availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and history of the patient. Can begin emergency response in case of complication. Maintains adequate linen supplies in each scanning room. Maintains adequate contrast media and biopsy/drainage supplies in each scanning room. Adheres to room assignments (CT 1,2 and 3). Assists in maintaining CT storeroom, outside inventory. Participates in daily inventory and stocking of supplies. Notifies Lead of expired or soon to expire equipment or medications. Cleans and inventories supplies. Participates in the routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table and peripheral equipment after each use. When assigned as Point, triages procedures accordingly to the daily schedule. Ensures timely coordination of all emergency and unscheduled procedure requests. Assigns staff to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining an environment of patient safety. Maintains workflow within the section to coordinate emergent and unscheduled procedure requests within the schedule. Communicates with all departments and floors regarding patient status. Ensures immediate patient transport post-procedure. Assists in performing routine procedures. Assesses patient ability to tolerate contrast. Screens for allergies/medication incompatibilities. Cleans CT Unit and room after each use. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of working area. Notifies Coordinator or Lead of equipment malfunctions. Maintains QA/QC requirements for daily, monthly & ACR specifications. Recognizes unusual conditions in the operation of equipment. Alerts appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions. Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols. When doing cases that require immediate results such as Code Grey, Trauma and Partial Trauma, the images will be acquired, processed, sent and verified/completed in PACS / RIS system per established protocol (Immediately after acquisition for Code Grey). Notifies the radiologist as Code Grey images are being sent and follows with any processed data after. All staff should notify the radiologist of ANY unusual finding to provide the optimum care for the patient. Minimum Qualifications: HS diploma/GED Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from a School of Radiography or College based Radiography program. ARRT RT (R) ARRT RT (CT) NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License. BLS Certification.
