Stephen Perry Smith Architects, Inc. is seeking aProject Manager who is a licensed architectto join our team in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. This role involves leading projects from concept through completion, collaborating closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver exceptional design and service. We are looking for an individual who brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for architectural excellence. Responsibilities

Manages complex tasks on small to large projects across commercial, corporate, education, hospitality, industrial, manufacturing and distribution, mixed-use, multifamily residential, and wellness sectors. Plans, organizes, and directs project work from start to finish, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, properly documented, and successfully delivered to the client. Assists in the negotiation and development of project agreements, while understanding decision-making responsibilities and respecting the role of the Principal in Charge. Leads the client relationship, ensuring the project design meets budget, schedule, program, and design intent. Keeps project teams, including internal staff, consultants, and contractors, informed and aligned on expectations, deadlines, and deliverables. Organizes and leads project meetings with internal teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and subcontractors. Manages and tracks change orders, contractor payment applications, and other contractual modifications affecting budget and schedule. Mentors, motivates, and supports project teams. Assesses project staffing needs and recommends personnel assignments. Qualifications

Thorough understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. Proficient with Revit Architecture with commitment to continuing professional development. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experienced in managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity, while balancing deadlines and priorities. Effective communicator and negotiator with clients, project teams, and contractors. Collaborative team player with clients, project teams, and contractors. Takes direction well while proactively taking appropriate action without requiring continual oversight. Education and Experience
