JOB SUMMARY: The Engineer uses their extensive knowledge to design, build, and maintain integrated and networked audio, video, and lighting systems.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
Requires knowledge of audio, video, performance lighting and control system components and subsystems including capabilities, limitations, interfaces, and suitability to task
Requires design, calibration, and operation of integrated audio, video, and performance lighting systems capabilities
Requires experience with and certifications from control and DSP systems
Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and have a willingness to work within a team environment accepting direction and developing an ever-increasing skill set
Must be proficient in time management and organization skills, results oriented, and extremely detail oriented. Must be able to meet deadlines and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Requires very good logic skills and structured thinking
Requires very good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and very good problem-solving abilities
Requires an advanced understanding of the architectural drawings and AV drawing conventions.
Requires knowledge and experience with AutoCAD software
Requires knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC 2014)
Prefer formal training in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or audio/video/lighting engineering
Requires CTS certification. Prefer CTS-D or working towards it
Prefer EAVA, SynAudCon and/or similar certifications
Prefer Networking experience - CCNA
Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years' experience installing commercial AVL systems plus 2 years' experience engineering, testing, tuning, calibrating and commissioning commercial AVL Systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
Budgeting: Preparing estimates and budgets for projects
Communicating: Communicating with clients, coworkers, and stakeholders
Planning: Creating detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for projects
Regulatory compliance: Completing regulatory documents for code and safety issues.
Testing: Establish plan and conduct testing, calibration, and commissioning
Documentation: Creating technical reports, user documentation, and other documentation
Training: Establish plan and conduct end user training
Maintenance: Establish plan and conduct preventive maintenance and break fix service
