The Surgical Technologist works with a wide variety of healthcare professionals to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after procedures or surgery. The Surgical Technologist provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) standards of practice and by adhering to MCHS policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique.**JOB QUALIFICATIONS****EDUCATION***For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.***Minimum Required:** Graduate of a surgical technologist program or military equivalent.**Preferred/Optional:** None**EXPERIENCE****Minimum Required:** None**Preferred/Optional:*** Two years of healthcare experience.* One year experience as a Surgical Technologist.**CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES***The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.***Minimum Required:*** BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.* May require additional specialty or department-specific certifications (where applicable).**Preferred/Optional:*** BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.* Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
