Non-Exempt, FT Hourly Pay Range $16.50 - $17.60 POSITION SUMMARY: The Aquatics Maintenance Technician is responsible for taking care of the aquatics facility by ensuring safe water chemical levels and maintaining the integrity of pool structures and equipment. The Aquatics Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the cleanliness of the aquatic facility through the development and execution of a timely maintenance schedule and the establishment of standard operating procedures. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or GED. Experience in pool, spa and/or fountain maintenance, including chemical use, chemical level testing, pump, equipment maintenance, pool plumbing and all other related items. Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word and MS Excel Valid driver’s license PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Certified Pool Operator American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Diagnose, repair, and maintain swimming pools and aquatic features. Work closely with the Facilities team to diagnose, repair, and maintain water systems, filter systems and pumps. Ensure that pools are safe, clean, operational, and compliant with applicable health codes and statutes. Regularly test swimming pool water quality and pH balance. Log and report equipment faults, facility needs, or water quality problems to Aquatic Manager. Assist in the planning and execution of facility shutdowns and maintenance procedures. Perform housekeeping duties in and around the Aquatic Center. Maintain an equipment checkout program by performing checks before and after use for defects, repair, etc. Complete applicable reports and records. Provide excellent internal and external customer service. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures. Perform other assignments/duties as directed. MENTAL DEMANDS: Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Detail oriented and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position requires sitting; climbing; stooping; standing; walking; manual dexterity; lifting/carrying 50-75 pounds and occasionally more than 75 pounds. COMMUNICATION DEMANDS: The position requires talking to co-workers, clients, vendors; requires written communication to and from co-workers, clients, vendors. EQUIPMENT NEEDS: Chemical feeders, chemicals, pool vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, pool filters, power washer, and other pool maintenance equipment. CLEARANCES: The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history information check.
