The Mechanical Engineer or Designer will design and develop specifications for air distribution, hydronic piping, and HVAC control systems, as well as perform heating and cooling load calculations for various environments. They will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and builders during the construction phase.

Perform heating and cooling load calculations. Design HVAC systems, including air distribution, hydronic piping, system and equipment selection, and control systems. Prepare specifications based on design. Review design drawings in relation to plans and specifications. Assess existing building HVAC and plumbing systems. Conduct on-site inspections during construction to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards. Stay updated on HVAC technologies, conduct experiments, and evaluate new systems and materials. Meet with owners to understand project requirements. Mentor less experienced engineers and interns. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel approximately 10% of the time. Qualifications and experience include: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. PE license preferred. 8+ years of experience in HVAC systems, field surveys, and construction punch lists. Experience in plumbing design is a plus. Proficiency in Revit is required. The physical demands of this role include: Occasional lifting or moving up to 20 pounds. Visual abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Prolonged sitting or standing at a desk working on a computer. Exposure to outdoor elements when on-site.
