Job Summary Responsible for all aspects of the diagnostic physics program and radiologic technology at Corewell Health. Responsibilities include clinical duties, innovation, teaching, research, service to the organization, and career development through leadership of the Diagnostic Medical Physics team. In imaging and other service lines using imaging, responsible for image quality and radiation safety for patients and employees. Along with the Diagnostic Medical Physics team, provides consulting services to the organization and physicians regarding all imaging modalities. Radiologic technology responsibilities include supporting the optimization of clinical protocols and participating in departmental projects such as radiation shielding evaluation and operational requirements for imaging equipment. As Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), responsible for compliance with NRC and Michigan regulations on radiation use, and will be the designated RSO on the Corewell Health West NRC license. Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Nuclear Medicine Physics or the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine Physics is required or must be obtained within 9 months of hire. Essential Functions include overseeing physicists and staff, ensuring equipment operates to standards, serving as the Qualified Medical Physicist, acting as RSO for Spectrum Health, performing shielding calculations, consulting on treatment techniques, providing education, managing personnel, ensuring quality and safety, participating in safety initiatives, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Master's Degree in Radiological or Medical Physics (Doctorate preferred), 5 years of relevant imaging experience, 2 years in radiation safety, 1 year supervisory experience, and certification by ABR or the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine upon hire. Physical Demands involve lifting, carrying, sitting, standing, walking, and other physical activities with specified weights and frequencies.
