The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: NP or PA Exciting opportunity to collaborate with a well-established, fast paced, multi-disciplinary team in Electrophysiology. The primary area of practice is in the electrophysiology lab at Strong Memorial Hospital caring for both inpatients and outpatients. The APP will work closely with attending electrophysiologists, EP and general cardiology fellows and the established APP team. The patient population will include patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures including, but not limited to, device placement, ablations and patients undergoing evaluation for complex cardiac arrhythmia. In addition to providing first assist support during invasive EP procedures, responsibilities include independent cardioversion and loop recorder implantations as well as rotating on the electrophysiology consult service. Candidates must be ambitious, flexible, able to collaborate well with others and willing to grow and adapt within the position. This is a full-time, day shift position in the rapidly expanding field of electrophysiology. No University Holidays. Essential Functions: · Comprehensive patient evaluations pre and post EP procedure, including admissions and discharges. · History and physical examinations, diagnostic testing, ECG interpretation · Provide procedural support in the scrub role which includes sterile patient preparation, first assist, vascular access, suturing, incision closure, catheter use and more. · Manage peri-procedural complications. · Provide patient education and counseling regarding treatment plans, procedures, and lifestyle modifications. · Moderate sedation credentialing · Independent cardioversion and loop recorder implant/explant · Device interrogation · Rotate on the EP consult service. · Potential for outreach hospital support in future · Quality improvement initiatives · Committee involvement · Presenting at morbidity and mortality conferences · Education of learners (APP students, physician learners, staff, referring practices, etc.) Qualifications: · Prefer candidates with procedural medicine experience, OR training or first-assist certification in an organization of comparable size and complexity. · 2–5-year cardiology or electrophysiology experience with a significant level of accomplishment preferred · Critical care experience a plus · Master’s Degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies · NYS License · Current NCCPA board certification or national NP certification · ACLS/BLS certification Applicants must have 2-5 years of experience in cardiology, surgery, or acute care in an organization of comparable size and complexity with a significant level of accomplishment. Must demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and technical skills, good teaching ability and the desire to learn. Strong preference for candidates who independently engage in problem solving and works well in a complex, team-based environment.
