Community Health Aide Practitioner
Hiring Range $33.84 to $45.11 Pay Range $33.84 to $50.75
Summary of Job Responsibilities: The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Community Health Aide is responsible for providing acute, chronic, emergency, and preventive medical health care to Village residents under the direction of medical doctors in Anchorage and according to the CHA/P Manual. The CHA Trainee (CHA-T) level is a training classification for those who do not yet qualify as CHA I. The CHA I, II, III, IV, and Practitioner are expected to operate within the guidelines of the CHA/P Manual (eCHAM), their level of training, and the scope of practice appropriate to their training. CHA II, III, IV, and Practitioner also act within the limits of their Medical Standing Orders (MSO) when applicable.
This position has five (5) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experience and training. Progression between levels is based on qualifications, certifications, and demonstrated ability to handle more advanced responsibilities.
Qualifications: SCF programs are primarily established to serve Alaska Native people affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Native and American Indian populations within SCF’s service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of this population, which is critical to achieving SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and the mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services. The position requires the ability to travel to village communities on a set recurring rotation schedule.
Additional Qualifications for CHA IV:
Successful completion of Session IV of the CHA training program with a grade of 80% or better.
Meet all expectations outlined in the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board Standards and Procedures.
Additional Qualifications for CHA Practitioner:
Current certification as a Practitioner by the CHA Program Certification Board (CHAPCB).
Meet all expectations outlined in the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board Standards and Procedures.
Native Preference: Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training.
Employee Health Requirements: Compliance with our Employee Health procedure is a condition of employment. All job-related health screening and immunizations must be completed prior to the first day of employment. For positions designated as Health Care Personnel (HCP), documentation of immunizations including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19 is required.
