Position Summary
This RN, Clinical Supervisor provides operational leadership for the Emergency Department during the assigned shift, directing and coordinating unit operations according to department policies, procedures, standards and standard work. The role includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individuals and processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care, as well as managing material and labor resources within the department budget. Success depends on professional communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff to optimize workflow and resolve problems. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Models an interdisciplinary approach and collaborates with physician partners to achieve optimal operational efficiency. Supports MemorialCare initiatives. Promotes the advancement of the profession of nursing. Fosters employee engagement, inspires loyalty, and leads by example. Creates a supportive and healthy work environment through clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. Embraces a Lean mindset and utilizes the plan-do-study-act (PDSA) performance improvement model. Fosters a culture of safety by assessing, applying appropriate interventions and evaluating their outcomes. Creates an environment that supports and enhances service excellence and the patient and family experience. Ensures accountability to achieve financial targets through daily management activities. Promotes and participates in activities designed to support organizational excellence and growth. Demonstrates active support of the journey to nursing excellence. Ability to be at work and on time. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner. Ability to prioritize and multitask. *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications/Work Experience
5+ years of Emergency Department experience in an acute care setting. Supervisor and/or nursing leadership experience preferred. Education/Licensure/Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Card required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Card required. NIHSS Certification required.
