Schedule and supervise employees in the safe and efficient installation of new HVAC equipment, components and systems in commercial settings. Ensure installations are performed according to desired specifications at minimal cost, completed on schedule and that they meet all applicable mechanical and local codes and regulations. Supervise and delegate installation employees, including assisting in hiring and disciplining, scheduling, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, counseling and training, completing time sheets, evaluating performance and supervising work assignments to ensure effective production. Evaluate workload and schedule installation work to best utilize manpower. Interface with building inspectors to identify installation needs and arrange installation date. Ensure that materials and equipment are ordered for scheduled jobs. Travel to job sites to ensure that employees are performing as scheduled. Instruct crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship. Stay in touch with installation crews to assist with unexpected needs. Ensure that jobs are permitted, as appropriate. Coordinate and meet inspectors on inspections. May cut, build and install ductwork and/or furnaces, as needed. Check to ensure that each job is complete. Ensure that appropriate job documentation and/or payments are returned to the office. Resolve customer issues and problems encountered by installation personnel. Prepare required reports on department operation to include production, vehicles, material usage, etc. Evaluate staff to determine training requirements. Provide classroom and on-the-job training and support to employees. Qualifications

City of Omaha Journeyman License is preferred. Experience supervising and leading a team. 5-7 years of experience in HVAC installation. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. EPA certification and a working knowledge of basic carpentry, gas piping, electricity and air flow are required. A valid driver’s license and good communications skills are required. Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards. *
