As a Mechanical Designer, you will work under guidance on tasks and smaller projects, and as part of a larger project team under the supervision of a Senior Engineer. Your responsibilities include evaluating, recommending, and specifying engineered systems or products for projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and practices. Stantec has building engineering teams serving Western Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh and Butler, PA, as well as Cleveland, Ohio. We are looking to expand our team by hiring a Mechanical Designer. Interpret drawings, codes, and related materials. Perform Revit design for mechanical disciplines, applying fundamental mechanical engineering concepts. Coordinate with architectural, interior design, and other engineering disciplines under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. Conduct field work as directed. Perform basic calculations to analyze and design building mechanical system components using standard and proprietary software. Assist with engineering duties on projects of varying complexity. Gather data and information to support design decisions. Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff. Your Capabilities and Credentials

Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD as drafting and design tools. Ability to collaborate effectively within a project team and engage in creative and critical thinking. Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and effective communication skills. Basic knowledge of mechanical systems design for buildings, including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection, preferably in healthcare, commercial, or educational facilities. Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and building programs. Ability to follow directions, adhere to processes, and accept feedback from senior engineers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD; experience with Newforma, Trane Trace, and eQuest is preferred. Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering. Co-op or internship experience is preferred. This role involves typical office work with computers and may include field work exposure to weather conditions. Salary Range: NYC $82,900 - $116,000; Outside NYC $65,800 - $92,100 (final compensation based on qualifications and location).
