Job Overview

Apex Systems, a world‑class technology solutions provider, is seeking a Performance Tester on behalf of one of our largest financial industry clients. This role requires a qualified candidate to focus on performance testing activities and to drive performance improvements.

$68‑$73 per hour

Responsibilities

• Lead key performance‑related tasks for new lines of business in the financial markets.
• Independently manage tasks—LRE scripting, test strategy planning, testing, monitoring, profiling, and reporting—from project initiation to completion.
• Lead performance defect triage meetings and drive solutions.
• Coordinate with team members and external stakeholders for root‑cause analysis of issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Possess in‑depth knowledge of specific technologies within the line of business domain.
• Demonstrate expert‑level communication skills.

Key Requirements

• Proficient in VUGen 12 or later for advanced test script development beyond basic record and playback.
• Skilled in developing scripts using HTTP/HTML, MQ, Java, and TruClient protocols.
• Capable of understanding complex workflows and designing test flows and strategies.
• Design load scenarios and test plans; execute load tests to meet target requirements.
• Monitor system and application metrics to identify bottlenecks.
• Exhibit triage ownership/leadership and strong organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Splunk for load test analysis.
• Solid understanding of software development and architecture concepts (.NET, Java/JEE, code review, architectural patterns).
• Expertise in identifying performance bottlenecks and understanding end‑to‑end web performance metrics.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to research and resolve complex system, application, and user issues.
• Experience with monitoring and profiling tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and AWR reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to support APAC and EMEA teams.
• Banking experience compulsory.
• Practical experience with Agile tools and methodologies, including Horizon JIRA and Horizon Confluence.
• Self‑motivated with strong escalation and issue resolution skills.
• Strong results‑driven mindset and proactive approach.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
• Performance Tester/Engineer/Architect with a minimum of 7+ years of hands‑on experience in LoadRunner.
