We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Machinery Mechanic to join our team. This position involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse range of equipment including company vehicles, tractors, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will also assist with reconditioning vehicles for resale on our car lot. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on professional who takes pride in keeping equipment running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive mechanical services on company‑owned equipment and vehicles.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on tractors, forklifts, and company vehicles to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across our fleet, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and brake systems.
  • Prepare vehicles for resale by performing necessary repairs, conducting thorough inspections, and ensuring all vehicles meet quality standards for our car lot.
  • Maintain detailed service records, order parts as needed, and communicate equipment status to management.
  • Prioritize emergency repairs on broken company machines and vehicles to minimize operational disruptions.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment and automotive repair with strong diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proficient with both hand and power tools.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal technical training or certification in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or related fields.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, and welding/fabrication skills.
  • Previous experience in a fleet maintenance environment or automotive resale preparation.

Compensation and Hours

This full‑time position offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a starting wage of $20 per hour and potential for higher compensation based on experience and demonstrated expertise.
