Job Overview

Heavy Equipment Mechanic role at The Contractor Consultants is being integrated with Complete Development Inc. in Orlando, FL. This position focuses on maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy civil construction equipment to ensure safety and reliability across multiple job sites. Equipment includes bulldozers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and related small support equipment. A strong background in diesel and hydraulic systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on bulldozers, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and related small equipment (e.g., compactors, dewatering pumps, cut saws).
• Diagnose and repair engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems efficiently.
• Complete small engine rebuilds, component replacements, and major equipment repairs.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Operate service truck and perform field repairs as needed.
• Minimize equipment downtime to support project schedules.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety standards during repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in diesel/heavy civil equipment repair.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
• Experience with John Deere and Bomag equipment or military mechanic background is a plus.
• Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work independently in the field.

Schedule & Location

Location: Orlando, FL 32801. Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8-10 hour shifts. Overtime and weekend work as needed based on project schedules.
