Accounting Clerk (Contract – Potential to Hire)

Overview:

A well-established food manufacturing company in Pico Rivera is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a contract position with the potential to convert to permanent. The ideal candidate will support the accounting team with high-volume data entry, invoice processing, and general accounting duties in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process 500–1,000 invoices per week and assist with three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including posting payments and preparing check runs.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and communicate with vendors as needed.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized accounting records and ensure accuracy in all financial documentation.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the accounting department as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and three-way matching.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume setting and meet deadlines.
