Performs scheduling function in a fully computerized environment. Applies special instructions and procedural information to identify the type of procedure requested and correctly schedule rooms and equipment. Enters data into computer systems, verifies data input accuracy, and prints reports as necessary. This position will be alternately based at the Atlanta Cancer Support Center and the Cancer Support Center in Gwinnett and will support the cancer genetics and high risk programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduling in a fully computerized environment, applying instructions to identify procedures and schedule rooms and equipment.
• Enter data into computer systems, verify accuracy, and print reports as necessary.
• Alternate between the Atlanta and Gwinnett Cancer Support Centers; support cancer genetics and high risk programs.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology
• One (1) year of previous medical-related clerical or related experience or an associate degree
• Good communication skills
• Typing requirements vary by department; see requisition for requirements
• Fundamental knowledge and skill in computer applications
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) varies by department; see requisition for requirements
• CPR certification requirements vary by department; see requisition for requirements

Preferred

• Three (3) years of previous experience in admissions or a scheduling environment
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in computerized data entry
