Overview

As a Production Supervisor, you will supervise and manage all functions involved in the production of 3M products in a safe and economic fashion. You will be responsible for direct supervision, training, safety performance, product quality, cost control, employee communications, employee morale, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe and sustainable working environment through modeling safe behaviors and recognizing and resolving safety concerns.
• Establish priorities and allocate work assignments to meet daily production requirements.
• Utilize Lean manufacturing processes to meet customer demand and quality expectations.
• Lead, coach, and develop employees through floor presentations, monitoring and coaching of shop floor operators, providing recognition, managing training requirements, policy administration, and participating in hourly hiring. May include contingent workers.
• Inspire integrity by upholding 3M policies and guidelines.
• Monitor and meet shift production rates and quality expectations. Communicate results and leverage continuous improvement tools to increase efficiencies in scheduling, product quality, and overall production costs.
• Represent plant leadership when required, including supervision coverage on alternative shifts and being on‑call when needed and all other duties as assigned.
• Work evening and night shift hours including weekends/holidays/rotating as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• One (1) year of previous leadership, supervisory, and/or management experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Familiarity with Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, layered audits, and standard work.
• Experience leading daily tier management process, leading improvement projects (Kaizens), and leading lean six sigma projects or possessing lean six sigma certification.
• Time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize daily.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Workday Human Resource management software.

Additional Qualifications (helpful)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Five (5) years of manufacturing and leadership experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
