Dental Front Desk Assistant – Wildwood, FL

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday
7:30 am – 4:30 pm with a 1‑hour lunch
No weekends.

Role Overview

As a Business Assistant, you’ll help the front office with patient coordination, insurance billing, and front‑desk duties. You’ll bring a passion for helping our team provide the best patient care to the communities they serve.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients to create a great first impression.
  • Manage front‑office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
  • Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and records.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers.
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage.
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables.
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
  • Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Access to PHI as required; regular HIPAA training will be provided.

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ year(s) in a dental or medical setting.
  • 1+ year(s) with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must lift up to 15 lb at times.
  • Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions throughout the year.
  • TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions; completion prior to starting employment.
