Position Summary

Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility environment. This position ensures that production areas, clean rooms, offices, lunchroom, restrooms, and common spaces meet sanitation and safety standards. The role may include specialized cleaning tasks within controlled environments such as cleanrooms

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of production areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins; ensure waste is disposed of properly
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working condition
• Clean and maintain cleanroom areas following proper gowning and contamination-control procedures (if applicable)
• Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply shortages to the supervisor
• Follow company safety policies and wear required PPE
• Assist with setup and cleanup for company meetings or events as needed
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safe handling, and proper dilution methods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, or move for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and work in controlled environmental conditions
• For cleanroom roles: understanding of contamination control and gowning procedures preferred

Separate from employment eligibility (Form I-9), U.S. export license requirements may apply before the Company can provide certain non-“U.S. persons” with access to specific technology, software and hardware that may be necessary for a position. As such, this position may require ITAR or EAR clearance

The hourly range for this role is $18.00/hour-$20.00/hour Emcore also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and Company-paid holidays
