This role is located at our Macedon, NY facility.

What We Need

A highly motivated self‑starter who will play an essential role in overseeing a variety of custodial tasks to maintain, clean, and preserve buildings and grounds. Will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. This role requires a person who can work as part of the sanitation team or independently depending on the needs of the department.

This position will support our 1st shift team, Monday‑Friday 8AM‑4:30PM.

What You Will Do

• Restocking appropriate supplies needed for production such as soap at hand washing stations and chemical sprays in sanitation areas
• Utilizing floor scrubber machine to clean production floor
• Assist with spill clean ups in a timely and safe manner
• Maintaining 5S throughout production floor
• Occasional use of compactor/bailer
• Thorough cleaning and sanitizing of drains
• Empty garbage containers within manufacturing areas
• Assist in maintaining and participate in the Baldwin Richardson Foods Recycling Program.
• Monitor building and grounds to ensure a neat and clean presentation and environment.
• Follow all written and verbal instructions.
• Ensure all supplies are stored in appropriate areas.
• May complete grounds maintenance duties such as removing snow, ice and debris.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Ensure security of building during and after completed jobs and report any security violations to management.
• Report the need for any major repairs to Manager/Supervisor.
• Report and repair emergency maintenance problems and/or environmental hazards immediately.

What You Need To Be Successful

• One year of experience in a Janitorial/Facilities Maintenance role.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
• Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
• Experience using chemicals/solutions required for deep cleaning processes (preferred).
• Must have ability to function both inside and outside in all types of weather.
• Medium to heavy work requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting (must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.).
• Must have experience with hand tools normally used in construction, maintenance, and landscaping.
• Requires basic knowledge of janitorial procedures.
• Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.
