Night Auditor - Pier Sixty-Six Resort
We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Night Auditor to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort! Reporting to the Director of the Front Office, the Night Auditor will be responsible for overseeing the auditing, posting, and balancing of daily financial transactions to support the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability by Pier Sixty-Six standards, AAA, and Forbes Travel Guide Standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate end-of-day financial reports and balance all revenue transactions, ensuring all accounts are settled and discrepancies are resolved.
- Assist late-night guests with check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries or requests, delivering personalized and exceptional service.
- Handle all front desk responsibilities during overnight shifts, including answering calls, processing payments, and providing information on hotel amenities and services.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during the night shift, responding swiftly to emergencies or guest concerns.
- Run nightly audit reports, verify room rates and revenue data, and prepare detailed financial summaries for management review.
- Oversee reservation systems and ensure accuracy in room assignments, rates, and guest details for the following day’s operations.
- Handle late-night guest billing, review folios for accuracy, and address discrepancies or payment issues.
- Assist with preparing for the morning shift, including coordinating with housekeeping for early arrivals.
- Ensure all financial data and guest information are handled per company confidentiality policies and industry regulations.
- Provide detailed handover notes for the morning shift, highlighting any issues, guest requests, or items needing follow-up.
- Provide cross-departmental support as needed, embodying a team-oriented approach to service and operations.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and accounting software.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile financial reports, including balancing ledgers and processing payments.
- Knowledge of night audit procedures, including room rate verification and generating financial summaries.
- Meticulous with numbers, capable of identifying discrepancies and errors in financial records.
- Ability to conduct detailed audits while maintaining accuracy under minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with late-night guests, handling inquiries, and resolving issues professionally.
- Ability to manage front desk operations overnight, including check-ins and check-outs, and respond to guest needs.
- Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during off-peak hours.
- Quick decision-making ability to address guest concerns, security issues, and emergencies during night hours.
- Capacity to troubleshoot technical issues related to accounting systems or guest services.
