Seneca Resources is hiring: Senior Accountant in Atlanta

Seneca Resources is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The role is full‑time hybrid with occasional on‑site work. The Senior Accountant will drive general accounting, variance analysis, account reconciliations, budgeting, and financial reporting while supporting our Sales and Recruiting teams.

Responsibilities

• Apply daily cash receipts, ACH, wire, and credit card payments to customer accounts.
• Reconcile customer payments to invoices and resolve short‑pays or unapplied cash.
• Maintain accurate aging reports and support collection efforts by providing payment details or documentation.
• Communicate with clients regarding payment issues or remittance discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for month‑end close.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including AR, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Assist with audits by providing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline billing and cash application workflows.
• Support system enhancements or integrations with accounting and VMS platforms.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of experience as an accountant.
• Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to general ledger accounting.
