The Opportunity

CACI is currently looking for a Business Analyst with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) located in Williston, Vermont. Join a team supporting Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ASF team aims to innovate and deliver deployable software in short sprints.

As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support CBP personnel who safeguard the American people. The program emphasizes innovation and requires adaptability and constructive collaboration with a technically diverse and geographically distributed team. Knowledge or strong interest in agile software development practices is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an experienced Business/Systems Analyst in an Agile/Scrum environment with custom software and database applications.
  • Capture, analyze, and manage functional and non-functional requirements and user stories.
  • Decompose mission/business objectives into a product backlog for short iterative development cycles.
  • Review high-level requirements and decompose into user stories; prioritize the product backlog with the Product Owner.
  • Communicate business needs to the development team through user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide guidance and clarification of user stories as a proxy Product Owner.
  • Work with the Scrum Master to establish release/sprint backlogs and resolve impediments.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and external stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Develop product roadmaps and participate in Integrated Release Planning.
  • Review and evaluate work to ensure proper scope is met.
  • Identify use cases for automated regression tests.
  • Lead demonstrations to the Product Owner and stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, use cases, and technical requirements.
  • Perform functional decomposition of large business needs into multiple layers of requirements/user stories.
  • Create a product backlog that delivers business value to the customer.
  • Utilize MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence).
  • Conduct backlog refinement sessions with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
  • Coach a development team to understand the business value of the product.
  • Experience in Agile Scrum methodologies and estimating techniques.
  • Analyze data and data relationships across business areas.
  • Understand the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, including but not limited to: 3-year felony check, 1-year drug use check, and 1-year misconduct check.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management Systems or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a business analyst on iterative software development projects.
  • Candidate must be available to work a hybrid schedule in Williston, VT.
  • Desired: Experience on database/reporting development projects.
  • Technical background in data-related technologies such as SQL and RDBMS.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional.

Pay Information

The proposed salary range is $85,800 - $180,200. The final salary depends on factors including location, experience, skills, and certifications. CACI offers comprehensive benefits and learning opportunities.
