Risk Manager, Enterprise Risk Strategy & Analytics Team As a Risk Manager in Capital One’s Enterprise Risk Strategy & Analytics Team, you will apply your strong communication skills, analytical expertise, and business knowledge to our highest profile programs and processes across Risk Management. You will collaborate with a team of risk leaders, analysts, technology, and data partners responsible for developing and implementing metrics to measure Capital One’s risk profile.

The Enterprise Risk Strategy & Analytics team plays a key role in analyzing Capital One’s risk performance and providing reporting to Senior Executives and the Board to inform the Company’s risk management strategy. The team is responsible for delivering structured reporting to Risk Executives, as well as developing data‑driven insights to inform strategic risk management decisions and practices. The Risk Manager will also serve as an advisor to other key risk programs (e.g. compliance, technology, or financial risk) to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of the Company’s metrics and monitoring platforms.

They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the company.

Responsibilities

Build and execute a strategy for the Company’s use of metrics to monitor and improve Risk Management outcomes

Develop and manage Objectives and Key Results for reporting and analytics in ERM

Support ERM, line of business, and risk management teams by developing a technology platform for data aggregation, reporting, and AI-driven insights

Lead and support efforts to modernize risk reporting and analytics processes

Support reporting and communication of key risk management topics across senior risk executives through monthly and quarterly reporting

Support audits, exams, and assessments across Enterprise Risk Management

Educate Risk Management associates on reporting, analytics, and data governance

Stay current on the changing industry landscape and regulatory environment, and understand the impacts to Capital One

Drive cross‑functional collaboration between the risk, technology, product, data, and business functions

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

At least 4 years of risk management or corporate strategy experience

At least 4 years of communications or program management experience

At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of communications or program management experience

5+ years of financial services risk management experience

5+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data

3+ years of drafting and presenting deliverables to high level leadership

2+ year of data risk management experience

2+ years of experience influencing partners, from risk managers to senior leaders

Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Risk Manager

Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Risk Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
