Counselor 3 - Part-time – WA Seattle The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints

Job Description Through a professional, private office setting and/or teletherapy, seasoned professionals provide high‑quality consultation to ecclesiastical leaders, direct counseling services, community resource development and referral, and support to other staff.

Responsibilities

Allocate time: 50‑70% client services; 20‑30% team building and collaboration; 10‑15% trusted collaboration with leaders and resources; up to 5% professional development.

Provide direct clinical care, group therapy, documentation, and consultative services with professionalism and attention to quality.

Engage as a supportive team member, participate in agency council meetings, and respond to agency, regional and headquarters needs.

Develop and fulfill whole service plans with ecclesiastical leaders and community resources.

Pursue ongoing professional development aligned with organizational values.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology or related field that leads to clinical licensure.

Minimum five (5) years post‑master’s professional experience, including three (3) years post‑independent licensure; one year may be replaced by NOJOS and DOC Credentialing for Sensitive Cases Team.

Advanced clinical skills, receptiveness to feedback, ability to provide supervision to other team members.

Proficiency in group therapy, refined consultation skills, and fulfillment of assignments from agency and regional managers.

Current independent clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPC or similar). May require state licensure for multiple states.

Clinical Licensure Hold and maintain current independent clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or similar). May require state licensure for multiple states depending on service area. International areas vary.

Role Complexities Regular interactions with ecclesiastical leaders such as Bishops, Stake Presidents, Mission Presidents, and GA’s. Focus on therapy with minimal case management. Facilitate group therapy programs such as Addiction Recovery. In North America reports to an Agency or Region Manager; elsewhere to Area Region Manager.
