Senior Data Integration Engineer
— Seattle, Washington, United States Compensation Range: $115,000 - 140,000 per year Onsite Status: Hybrid role (combination of work from home and in-person work) Location: 1131 SW Klickitat Way, Seattle, Washington 98134, United States Responsibilities
Work with managers, directors, and architects to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions. Design, build, and maintain complex ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, and data transformation processes. Collaborate with analysts, business teams, and leadership to translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions. Manage and provide day-to-day direction to staff and 3rd party contractors in development and support of integrations. Ensure that enterprise integrations are meeting business needs and make recommendations to improve integration effectiveness. Participate and consult in the design of integrations to be developed according to best practices and approved design patterns. Assist with developing support strategies for enterprise integrations, including the support model, training of staff, developing support documentation, and endpoint activities. Ensure the configuration, monitoring, maintenance, backups, administration, and support of the enterprise integration platform to meet or exceed service level agreements, including High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions. Analyze and resolve problems with the enterprise integrations. Participate, and lead, the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies as required. Support the hiring, training, and development of integration development staff. Implement and maintain data governance, metadata management, and lineage tracking. Optimize data integration platforms and infrastructure for performance, HA/DR, scalability, and cost efficiency. Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, as applicable); including user management, role-based access controls, CLS/RLS, and audit practices. Partner with Data Governance, DataDev, and Portfolio teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect). Data Lake Management and Maintenance Support streaming data, ML/AI initiatives, and advanced analytics use cases. Troubleshoot, optimize, and resolve complex production and development issues. Promote best practices in data platform management and engineering across the enterprise. Documentation of processes and contributions to knowledge base repositories. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of managing Integration Platforms (Boomi / Informatica). 5+ years of experience (preferred) in data engineering, data integration, or related roles. Hands-on experience in data modeling, optimization, and pipeline development. Experience working with large, diverse datasets in an enterprise environment. Agile team experience preferred. Experience in the cargo transportation or logistics industry is a plus but not required. Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of the Integration engineering lifecycle, data warehousing practices, and governance frameworks. Proficiency in Boomi, Informatica, or other low-code/no-code Integration PaaS. Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Python/R, SQL, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI). Experience with Cloud Data Integration, Cloud Application Integration, and Change Data Capture processes. Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Prefect). Database familiarity (Oracle, Snowflake). Experience with streaming technologies (Spark, Flink, Kafka) and big data concepts. Knowledge of modern containerization and deployment practices (Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders. Proven ability to independently grow technical skills and adopt new tools. Agile Development Life Cycle experience. Proficiency in data platform security, audits, and processes. Knowledge and understanding of network and infrastructure considerations with integration development and maintenance. Data Quality management concepts and practices. Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset. Supervisory Responsibilities:
